We are proud to announce our acceptance as a WBE – Woman Business Enterprise – Certified company.
The WBE standing validates that a woman – in our case, Theresa Dermody – has majority ownership and control of the business. Achieving WBE Certification is a key business decision for women business owners.
Primarily, many local purchasing agencies have business plans that include doing business with women business owners. Often, local and state government contracts require the use of minority owned businesses (including WBE Certified companies) as subcontractors for some phase of the project. Creating a sustainable business relationship with a Certified Woman/Minority owned business can assist a bidding contractor with being awarded the project, by satisfying the requirements of the contract. The WBE Certification guarantees that the subcontractor is legitamately woman-owned and run; a fact important to many public and private corporations as well.
WBE Certification Criteria include that a woman must own and control at least 51% of the company for at least 6 months; must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident; and be active in the daily management of the company.
