Last week we addressed how to build a wooden fence that lasts longer than ever before, now we are adding a gate to match! Go forward, all wooden gates 5′ or larger will be built on an aluminum frame, resulting in improvements in strength and stability overall. The gate will be more solidly reinforced and structurally square, decreasing the chance of sagging, and more lightweight than our all-wood gates. The gates will be fastened to 4x6x12 posts, and hardware will be fastened metal to metal – bolstering structural soundness.
