We here at Florida Fence love what we do! We love beautifying homes with long-lasting beautiful fences and creating spaces for people to enjoy their lives. But as much as we take joy in building fences, what drives us is something much more significant. We are consumed by the desire to build a legacy.
This isn’t something we often talk about publicly. Part of creating a legacy involves living out our values and operating with integrity, neither of which lends itself to “tooting our own horn,” so to speak. Running a business with integrity is about actions, not words.
At the same time, however, we feel it’s important for our clients and people we do business with to be aware of the standards we endeavor to hold ourselves to, and to share in the joy that our family—the entire Florida Fence family—has when we have the opportunity to serve.
Building a legacy—something that is truly meaningful and will outlast our lifetimes—for us is about knowing that future generations will be able to look back on what we did and feel proud to be connected to us. Thus, the legacy of integrity, honesty, and compassion are of paramount importance to us. But this extends beyond family.
We love giving back and hope to leave this legacy—not just a business that does good, honest work and serves its team members and clients well, but the legacy of giving—to our children and grandchildren.
We’re delighted to be able to share with you some of the organizations that have been helped over the years. This help wouldn’t be possible without you!
Lee Wetherington Boys and Girls Clubs
The Lee Wetherington Boys and Girls Clubs give so much to the youth of the community, that when they reached out to us to quote installing a fence for them, Kevin didn’t have the heart to charge them. Here’s a snippet from a letter they wrote to us after the installation of their fence…“Our garden will be a beautiful space for our children to achieve academic success, character and leadership development, and healthy lifestyles. We hope you realize the impact your generosity will have on those that need us most!”
Girls Inc.
Recently, the young ladies at Girls Inc. decided that they needed to paint a music wall as a project – we supplied the fence, but they supplied the talent! Thanks to The Junior League of Sarasota for reaching out to us and getting us involved in this fun and meaningful project.
Buck Best

Picket was honored to put a fence for Buck Best!
This delightful and dedicated World War II veteran needed a fence and was looking to purchase one from us. We decided it was our responsibility and privilege to honor him by giving him the fence. A small token of our appreciation for his service to our country.
Patrick and Keri Kruse
The Kruses are a young SARASOTA couple who fostered their first child several years ago. When they felt the calling to foster more children, a local organization moved them into a specially designed home that would safely house them and the children they were helping. But, alas… no backyard! In addition to two of our installation team members donating their time, the office team joined in, brought lunch and played with the kids and dogs in their newly enclosed backyard for the afternoon and gave Keri the opportunity to watch their oldest child play soccer – kid free!
Buckner International Shoes for Orphans’ Souls
Buckner Shoes for the Orphan Souls is the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International and provides new shoes and socks to orphans and vulnerable children in the United States and around the world. We knew we wanted to partner with them when we met Kenia on a JOY FM Honduras mission trip in 2016, a 13 year girl whose baby was in the same orphanage as her, fathered by a relative. We were driven to make a difference to help Kenia and those like her, so we purchased 414 pairs of shoes in 2016 for the Buckner Shoes for Orphans Souls—here’s a video!
Bayside Community Church
And finally, we are honored to be Kingdom Builders for the East Sarasota Campus of Bayside Community Church. We showed our appreciation to them by doing some fence work around the church including a special sign that has the scripture on it Ephesians 3:20-21.
Serving others – that is our true legacy, and we pray that our children and grandchildren carry it on!
